Cos
@CosTheSociety

          Brooklyn, NY is synonymous with great talent, tremendous creativity, and one of a kind originality. It is the home of countless legends and on March 2, 1990, Brooklyn welcomed its next undeniable talent, Marcos Diaz better known as “Cos”. From very early on, it was clear that he would be a man of many talents. Even though he is still young, the ups and downs have already taught Marcos, the person invaluable lessons while shaping Cos, the artist that we know today. While New York was the perfect arena to hone his natural poetic skills, life had different plans. At the tender age of nine, his parents decided to end their marriage sending him packing to the little known town of Vineland, NJ.  Going from the hustle and bustle of the city to the country atmosphere of Vineland was a drastic change. Using the landscape of his new home, Marcos began pouring his energy into baseball. It was quickly evident that he had raw talent that he would continue to groom throughout high school and his first year of college. People began taking notice and he decided to go back to his parents’ native country, the Dominican Republic to be a part of the Atlanta Braves Training Camp. Determined and focused, he set off in search for a minor league contract, but once again the universe had other plans. In July of 2010, his dream of becoming a professional athlete came to an end due to injury after injury. Finally, coming to terms that he would never be the same on the field, he decided to return to his first love…music.

Welcome Cos… Poetry had always been an outlet for Cos, but the end to his baseball career put things into perspective. With the influences of Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Fabulous, and Joe Budden running through his veins, a fresh sensation awoke in him.  At 18, he decided to jump in with both feet and dedicated his full time to creating music. His cousin Mjust, saw his potential and featured him on his locally released Mixtape titled, State of NJ. The recording studio experience only made his passion for music deeper and things began to come together. Shortly after, he met his current manager/partner, Eric Martinez and with their shared vision of creating quality and cutting edge music, they began bringing Cos’s dream to fruition. Cos became an official artist of The Society, releasing his first official Mixtape, The Meeting. Always striving to go against the grain and standing up for what he believes in, Cos falls into a class of his own. If his hard work is any indication of what his future holds, all signs point towards success and it is only just beginning.
